Our Story

Every time someone stops by, we want them to remember not just the taste of the food, but the feeling of being part of something personal and genuine.

Fixin’ Franks got its start in 1998 inside the Home Depot on North Avenue, originally as a coffee and pastry bar called Alterra Coffee. The vision came from our late founder, Conley Shirley, who saw an opportunity to serve quality food to busy shoppers.As Home Depot locations grew, so did we. Eventually, we shifted focus entirely to hot dogs. Today, the business is proudly run by Conley’s wife, Pamela, and Jordan Shirley. As a family, we’ve kept his vision alive by staying true to what matters: great food, hard work, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.We may not look like your typical hot dog stand, but that’s part of what makes us special. Operating inside Home Depot vestibules, we serve Chicago-style hot dogs made with ingredients from local favorites like Makowski’s and JP Graziano.

While most stands go with Vienna Beef, we do things our own way, and our customers notice the difference. We want you to leave with a great meal, a good memory, and the feeling that you’re part of our story.
